If you don't know how to do Keum Boo on copper, please watch the previous video first.
1. Prepare a copper cab and file the surface.
I use a stick with #400 sand paper here.
2. Prepare annealed fine silver wire. I suggest the thickness is less than 0.25mm (#30).
But it depends on your design and size of the piece.
3. Make a random shape with the wire. It's your world. Feel free. :)
4. Put it between a piece of paper and strike it slightly with a hammer.
Because it's a good idea to make it a bit flat before rolling.
5.Then roll it until it becomes less than 0.1mm. I suggest 0.08mm because if you roll it too much, the shape will change too much.
6. Anneal the rolled wire.
7. Fix the wire on the copper with water and glue as temporal tacking.
The glue I use is YAMATO Arabic Glue but usually they use tragacanth gum.
8. Do Keum Boo with a torch. As I said in the previous video, the brushy flame is important.
The tricky point is the wire is thick comparing with its contacting area. You might need to push a bit more carefully than the usual Keum Boo.
9. After Keum Boo is done, cool it slowly. remember it's bimetal.
10. I applied LOS and heat patina, and polished it.
11. You see other examples with texture. The last one is the piece I completed as a necklace.
