The main motif is a blue butterfly, possibly a Morpho butterfly.
I set it in a rectangular frame so that it looks like a specimen.
I decorated the butterfly with mica powder in different hues of blue.
I used the Japanese Maki-e technique to fix it. As a precaution, I coated the surface with lacquer.
I set it on an openwork copper background with silver scrolls at the corners.
The shell and scroll decoration, along with the scrolls at the bottom, add an antique taste to the piece.
The drop stone is a teal blue kyanite.
The pearls are dyed gray Akoya pearls.
